Webflow is an excellent tool. An insurance agency is buying a team, not a tool
Webflow gives a designer genuine control over layout, interactions and a content system, and a site built by someone good with it can be superb. The question for an agency is not whether the tool is capable; it is who sits in front of it next Tuesday when a carrier appointment changes, a new program launches and a page has to be written for it.
Real design control for people who design. Everything after launch is still yours to run.

01
What Webflow is genuinely strong at
Precise layout, a real content system for repeating pages, clean output, and a workflow that designers enjoy. If your agency has an in-house designer or a marketing lead with the skill, Webflow removes most of the ceiling a template builder puts on you, and you can build the line-page structure properly.
02
The part that is not in the tool
Knowing that the workers comp page should answer the two-employee question first, that the Medicare page needs different wording from the life page, that the umbrella page should not imply a coverage position, and that the thin office page is the one quietly holding back the rest. A tool cannot supply insurance judgement, and it cannot supply an article every week.
03
Licence plus designer, against one fee
A Webflow site means a subscription, plus a designer to build it, plus a retainer or hourly arrangement for changes, plus somebody to write. Our fee covers the design, the writing, the hosting, the domain, the corrections and the articles in one number, with the build fee invoiced only after the site is live.
04
Where we are honest about the comparison
If you have the designer, Webflow may be the better answer, and we will say so on a call. What we sell is not a better canvas. It is the fact that after launch somebody else keeps the site true, fast, written and structured, every week, without being chased.
Side by side Twelve axes
Webflow and a managed studio site, line by line
The same twelve axes on every comparison page, so the answers can be read against each other. Nothing in the left column is stated as fact about a specific plan or price; where a claim needs a source, it is cited at the foot of this page.
| What you are comparing | Webflow | InsuranceWebStudio |
|---|---|---|
| Speed and Core Web VitalsHow quickly a page appears on a phone with weak signal. | Clean output, and speed depends on the build, the interactions and the assets. | Static, hand-coded pages, guaranteed on every page we build and host, re-measured after every revision. |
| SEO controlWhether titles, URLs, headings and internal links can be set properly. | Strong: full control over titles, slugs, headings and structure. | Equally strong, and exercised for you, with one primary keyword per page and no cannibalisation across forty pages. |
| Schema and JSON-LDStructured data that tells search engines what each page is. | Possible to add properly, by hand or through the content system. | Generated from your agency data so it cannot drift from the page. |
| AEO and GEO readinessBeing the extracted answer, and being readable by AI assistants. | Entirely a content decision. | Answer-first structure, question-shaped headings, visible FAQs, llms.txt, consistent naming, as standard. |
| Hosting and securityWhere it runs, who patches it, who watches it. | Hosted on the platform with the subscription. | Cloudflare hosting, SSL, backups, security headers and monitoring, included. |
| Maintenance burdenWhat lands on somebody at the agency every month. | Low platform maintenance, full content and design ownership. | Weekly detail updates and revisions, done by the studio. |
| Who does the workWhose hours go into the site after launch. | Your designer, or an agency on a retainer. | A studio that only builds insurance agency sites, on one monthly fee. |
| Content and blogWho writes the articles, and how often. | A capable content system with nobody writing in it. | Researched, cited articles every week, and three a week plus social on the top plan. |
| Design qualityWhether the site reads as a designed thing or an assembled one. | As good as the person driving it, which can be excellent. | A brand system set for your agency, held across every page we add later. |
| Accessibility and compliance pagesPolicy pages, consent, disclaimers, readable contrast. | Yours to write, place and keep current. | Policy pages, consent that gates scripts, accessibility and insurance disclaimers built into the site. |
| Cost modelWhat you pay, when, and what is bundled. | Subscription plus design plus a retainer plus writing. | One monthly fee, everything inside it, build fee after launch. |
| Ownership and lock-inWhose domain, whose words, and what leaving looks like. | Content is yours; the build lives on the platform. | Domain and content yours; content exported within 14 days if you leave. |
Be honest
When Webflow is the better answer
- You have a designer in-houseWith the skill on staff, the control is worth more than the service, and we will tell you that.
- The site is a design pieceIf the website is a flagship marketing statement with unusual interactions, a designer and a canvas beat a managed system.
- You want to own the buildSome marketing leads want their hands on the structure. Webflow lets them.
And when not
When a managed studio site wins for an agency
- Nobody will be driving it after launchThe best-built site decays in a year without an owner, and agencies rarely have a spare owner.
- You want writing as well as designArticles, line pages and office pages every week are the part a tool does not do.
- You want guarantees in writingSpeed, revision turnaround and a ranking commitment are terms, not settings.
Together Switching, and running both
How the two fit, and how a switch actually runs
- 01
Moving a Webflow site across
The structure usually transfers cleanly. We map URLs, redirect what matters, preserve working titles, rebuild the pages in your brand system and submit the sitemap at launch. Your Webflow site stays live until the switch.
- 02
If you keep a designer
Good. Send their direction, mark and assets, and we build the system around them. The site benefits from a designer who knows your agency, whether or not they are in the tool.

Agencies who made this decision
What changed after the move, from real agency and broker staff, in their own words.
Form usability and error handling for commercial coverage reviews
My sign-off test was to submit the commercial coverage reviews form with every mistake I could invent. Each error is flagged precisely where it happens, and nothing already entered is lost. Staff demonstrating the form to a customer no longer have to apologize for it.
Lorraine BeckettOperations coordinator, Technology company insurance brokerLexington, KY Page migration and redirect mapping for commercial coverage reviews
Everyone talks about the new design; I cared more about where the old commercial coverage reviews links would land. We reviewed the full redirect map before launch and checked the destinations ourselves. I could share the new site knowing the old links had been taken seriously.

Questions about Webflow and a managed site
Is your site as customisable as Webflow?
For an agency website, the shapes you need already exist: line pages, office pages, articles, the finder, comparison and FAQ blocks. For an unusual interactive piece, a designer in Webflow has more room, and we will say so.
Why not just hire a Webflow designer?
If you have one and a budget for their time every month, do. The comparison is design-for-a-project against design-plus-writing-plus-upkeep every week for one fee.
Can we bring our own design?
Yes. Your mark, colors, type preferences and photography direction all feed the brand system we set on the onboarding call.
Who writes our coverage pages?
We do, from your onboarding answers, in your agency voice, with the compliance restrictions applied and no quoted premiums or eligibility claims anywhere.
What happens to our content system entries?
They come across as pages or articles in the new site, with URLs preserved or redirected so nothing that ranks is lost.
Do you support custom interactions?
We build motion and interaction where it helps a reader, and we keep it off the critical path so the speed guarantee holds.
Can we edit pages ourselves afterwards?
You do not need to. Send changes by email or through the client portal; weekly updates cover the small ones and revisions cover the rest.
What if we outgrow you?
Cancel with the notice in the terms, take your exported content and articles, and keep the domain that was always yours.
