GoHighLevel funnels and an insurance agency website do two different jobs
A GoHighLevel funnel is built to convert traffic from one campaign into one action, and it is good at that. An insurance agency website has a different job: to answer every line of business you write, in every town you write it, for the prospect who arrives from a search rather than an ad, and to keep doing it a year from now. Run both, and let each do what it was made for.
Keep funnels for campaigns. Keep the website for the lines you write all year.

01
What a funnel is actually for
A funnel is a short, linear path: an ad or an email lands someone on a page with one offer, one form and no exits. For an insurance agency that is exactly right for a Medicare annual enrollment campaign, a commercial auto promotion aimed at one trade, or a webinar sign-up. The page exists for the length of the campaign, it is measured on conversion rate, and it does not need to rank for anything.
02
What a website has to carry that a funnel does not
A website has to answer the searches you did not pay for. That means a page per line of business, a page per office and territory, articles that answer the questions your producers hear, structured data on all of it, internal links that connect the lot, and a coverage finder that routes a request to the right producer. It also has to be current in month eleven, when the campaign that built the funnel is long over and a new producer has joined.
03
Where funnel pages struggle as a whole site
Built out to forty or sixty pages, a funnel builder becomes hard to keep consistent: page templates drift apart, headings and titles get set by whoever built the page that week, and the structure a search engine needs is difficult to hold across that many pages. The work also stays with someone at the agency. None of that is a criticism of funnels; it is a description of a tool being used for a job it was not designed for.
04
The arrangement most agencies end up with
The website is the asset that ranks, explains and collects; GoHighLevel is the system that holds the contacts, the pipelines, the calendars and the campaign funnels. Our coverage finder pushes each request into your CRM tagged with the line and the office, so a funnel campaign and an organic quote request land in the same pipeline and get worked the same way.
Side by side Twelve axes
GoHighLevel funnels and a managed studio site, line by line
The same twelve axes on every comparison page, so the answers can be read against each other. Nothing in the left column is stated as fact about a specific plan or price; where a claim needs a source, it is cited at the foot of this page.
| What you are comparing | GoHighLevel funnels | InsuranceWebStudio |
|---|---|---|
| Speed and Core Web VitalsHow quickly a page appears on a phone with weak signal. | Funnel pages are built from a page builder, so weight depends on the blocks and scripts each page carries. | Hand-coded static pages with almost no JavaScript, served from the edge, with the PageSpeed score guaranteed on every page we build and host. |
| SEO controlWhether titles, URLs, headings and internal links can be set properly. | Titles and slugs are editable, but funnels are built to convert paid traffic rather than to rank a library of coverage pages. | Titles, descriptions, slugs, heading structure and internal linking are set per page as part of the build. |
| Schema and JSON-LDStructured data that tells search engines what each page is. | Structured data is added manually if you know to add it. | Organization, LocalBusiness, Service, FAQPage and BreadcrumbList generated from your agency data on every page. |
| AEO and GEO readinessBeing the extracted answer, and being readable by AI assistants. | Campaign copy is written to persuade, which is rarely the shape an answer engine extracts. | Answer-first sections, question-shaped headings, visible FAQs and an llms.txt file so assistants can read and cite the site. |
| Hosting and securityWhere it runs, who patches it, who watches it. | Hosted inside the platform, included in the subscription. | Cloudflare hosting, SSL, daily backups, security headers and uptime monitoring, none of it itemized. |
| Maintenance burdenWhat lands on somebody at the agency every month. | Somebody at the agency edits the funnel when something changes. | Weekly detail updates plus the revisions on your plan. Nobody at the agency logs in. |
| Who does the workWhose hours go into the site after launch. | You, your marketing person, or the agency that built the funnel, billed by the hour or the project. | The studio that designed it, every week, on the monthly fee. |
| Content and blogWho writes the articles, and how often. | Blogging is possible but is not what the tool is for. | Researched, cited articles every week, written for your lines and your state. |
| Design qualityWhether the site reads as a designed thing or an assembled one. | Template-led, which is fine for a campaign page and shows on a forty-page site. | A brand system set once for your agency and held on every page, including the ones added in month nine. |
| Accessibility and compliance pagesPolicy pages, consent, disclaimers, readable contrast. | Policy pages, consent and disclaimers are yours to write and place. | Privacy, terms, cookie policy with consent that gates scripts, accessibility statement and your carrier and product disclaimers, built in. |
| Cost modelWhat you pay, when, and what is bundled. | Inside a platform subscription, plus whoever builds and maintains the funnels. | One monthly fee with hosting, domain, updates and articles inside it, and the build fee invoiced only after launch. |
| Ownership and lock-inWhose domain, whose words, and what leaving looks like. | Pages live in the platform. Leaving the platform means rebuilding them. | The domain and the words are yours. Cancel and we export your content and articles within 14 days. |
Be honest
When GoHighLevel funnels is the better answer
- You are running a paid campaign with one offerA single page with one action, wired to a pipeline and an automation, is exactly what a funnel builder is for. Do not make that a website page.
- The campaign has a start and an end dateEnrollment periods, a renewal push on one class of business, a seminar. Build it, run it, retire it.
- You want the whole thing inside one systemIf everything living in one login matters more to you than the depth of the site, the platform builder is the consistent answer.
And when not
When a managed studio site wins for an agency
- You want the searches you did not pay forA page per line and per territory, plus weekly articles, is how an agency earns visibility beyond its own name.
- Your site has to stay right without your timeProducers, carriers, hours and appetite change constantly. Weekly updates absorb that; a funnel does not update itself.
- The first impression has to read as your agencyCommercial buyers and families both decide within a second whether a site belongs to a considered business.
Together Switching, and running both
How the two fit, and how a switch actually runs
- 01
Keep your CRM, change the website
Nothing in your GoHighLevel account has to change. We point the coverage finder at it, so quote requests arrive as contacts and opportunities tagged with the line and the office, and your existing pipelines, automations and calendars keep working exactly as they do now.
- 02
How the switch actually runs
Your funnels stay live while we build. On launch day the domain switches to the new site, the funnel URLs you want to keep are redirected or left where they are on their own subdomain, and any old address that had search value gets a 301 to its closest new page.

Inquiry form and response workflow for commercial coverage reviews
We expected a prettier website; what we actually use every day is the new form. The form gathers business activity, renewal date and coverage question at the start, exactly the details our follow-up messages always requested. The first message is usually enough to act on now.

Splitting new commercial coverage reviews inquiries from follow-ups sounded minor and was not. The sender picks the route, which means the best-informed person does the sorting. The morning triage is minutes rather than an hour.

Questions about GoHighLevel funnels and a managed site
Do we have to leave GoHighLevel to work with you?
No. We build and manage the website; your CRM, pipelines, calendars and automations stay where they are. The coverage finder pushes every quote request into them, tagged by line and office, so nothing about how your team works has to change.
Can we keep our existing funnels running?
Yes. Funnels can stay exactly where they are, on their own paths or a subdomain, while the main domain serves the new site. We only redirect an old URL when it had search value worth preserving.
Is a funnel not faster to launch than a website?
One funnel page is faster than forty website pages, which is the honest comparison. Against a full agency site, our Draft plan is live in seven days, and that includes the line pages, the office pages and the coverage finder.
Why not just build the whole site as funnels?
You can, and plenty of agencies have. What tends to happen at thirty or forty pages is drift: templates diverge, titles get set ad hoc, structured data is missing, and one person at the agency ends up owning all of it in the gaps between real work.
Does the coverage finder replace our funnel forms?
On the website, yes. The finder narrows a visitor to the right line and asks only what a producer needs to call back well. Campaign funnel forms can stay as they are; both land in the same CRM.
Who owns the pages you build?
You own the copy, the articles and the domain. The design and the code stay ours while the plan is active, which is what keeps the monthly fee where it is, and we export your content within 14 days if you ever leave.
Can you run our campaigns too?
We build and manage the website and the content around it. We do not buy or manage advertising, so if you want campaigns run, keep the person or agency doing that and point their traffic at pages that load fast and match the ad.
What happens to tracking when the site moves?
Any tracking or chat script you already run can be carried across during the build, and the site is built so your consent banner genuinely controls when those scripts fire.
